Notably, Steven Dick (MBARI) agrees the findings do not provide a conclusive answer about how to better conserve sharks. It is still unclear how endangered sharks like the white shark have managed to survive so long and avoid being consumed by humans. More research on sharks could help scientists better understand why some species have had such a high degree of resistance to human over-consumption.
