Post-colonial literature is literature written by writers of different geographical locations, ethnicities, religions, socio-economic status and cultural backgrounds as distinct entities within a common humanism. It is an expansion and application of the humanistic principles of the western narrative, which postulates: the universal desire for equality, freedom and liberty for all, whilst affirming the principle of hierarchy of status in which some are superior to others. The universal desire for equality is expressed as the desire to end the oppression of one human being by another, which is the basis of difference and conflict. One of the intellectual developments of the twentieth century is the recognition that the post-colonial concept encompasses a broader philosophy of universal humanistic ideals.
Post-colonial literature is literature that brings about a discussion of history, that is, history based on the historical experience of the colonized people in relation to the policies, ideologies and perceptions of the coloniser. Most of the post-colonial literature advocates a theory of “one human being”; a society without injustice, discrimination and conflicts, where race, class and social status does not create divisions.
Literature thus often interprets the cultural and historical experiences of colonised people in relation to their past, which enables a deeper understanding of their present cultural and social position, which plays a role in shaping their futures and the cultural and social history of their countries.
Post-colonial literature begins with the post-colonial period in the wake of colonization and contributes to the literary development in other terms. This has different characteristics and audiences in different parts of the world. In post-colonial countries literature often emerges in several forms, in the process of development through culture and socio-economic changes.
Literature does not have a single voice or one idea or character. It offers perspectives, it helps people to think, make choices and understand different things. Literature forms a collective background through which to study different cultures. Literature helps people to understand more about themselves and one another. Literature offers both the representation of the human experience and the engagement with human experiences. Literature offers an opportunity to translate different cultures and voices. As humans, we have always been linked to each other. Literature is a catalyst to express and develop this relationship which is not restricted to race, color or class.

Post-colonial literature examines issues that are central to the emerging post-colonial societies, that is, other ways of thinking about history, cultures, and societies. In the post-colonial literature, many questions arise about the nature of international relations and how the nation-state is constituted in relation to international relations.
The post-colonial literature of all countries includes literature that is post-colonial. The writings of post-colonial nations are therefore not separate from other literature, but depend on other literature. In post-colonial literature there are genres, subjects and authors, themes and subjects. There is no definitive body of literature on any of these themes or subjects.
Post-colonial literature focuses on local, national and international questions. It is written by people living within their respective post-colonial societies. Because the post-colonial literature focuses on questions relevant to the post-colonial societies of different societies, different groups of post-colonial societies consider themselves as different societies, despite the fact that they have a common history and culture. This is because post-colonial literature has, like a lens, a perspective from which it examines the world and readers rely on the author for their answers.
In post-colonial literature, some of the issues that are studied are similar to those that have been studied in other literature. These include issues such as post-colonial society, anti-colonial movements, indigenous and post-colonial cultures, post-colonial literature, nationalism, postcolonial literature, culture, post-colonial poetry, writing, post-colonial societies, literature and literature. The variety of subjects that are considered within post-colonial literature arises because it focuses on questions that are relevant to a particular society. The diverse nature of different topics often creates a kaleidoscope of writing. However, in post-colonial literature, this variety is not necessarily conscious and is, instead, as part of the way of thinking in post-colonial societies.
